SID and Kaslen have begun sharing information on program methods and results with seven other NGOs working in the Department of Chimaltenango. The aim is to improve both the impact and coverage of NGOs working to increase income and reclaim land in the Department and, thereafter, the Western Highlands. SID has taken a modest first step toward achieving this goal by helping organize and conduct workshops in which representatives of NGOs share information on best practices, lessons learned, and problems and solutions. The aim, also, is to design and carry out common technical assistance projects in which one or more NGOs applies one or more best practices, lessons learning, or a solution to a common problem and then reports back to the group as a whole on the results of this application.
